The story behind the table

Highland Tea Co. began during a trip to London with a simple observation: Dallas has no shortage of beautiful venues, talented caterers and skilled event planners — but nothing that occupies the space between hiring it all out and doing it yourself. Nothing that feels personal, curated and genuinely special without requiring a small army to execute.

Before I was sourcing vintage china at estate sales on Friday mornings, I spent nearly twenty years building brands at a senior level for some of the country’s largest financial and professional services firms — JPMorgan Chase, Texas Capital Bank and most recently BAL, where I led the evolution of the firm’s entire marketing and communications function.

I know what it takes to build something that feels considered down to the smallest detail. I’m bringing that same instinct to Highland Tea Co. — except now, the details are bone china patterns, silverplate provenance and the exact shade of blush that makes a tablescape feel like a garden in bloom.

I’m self-funding this business because I believe in it completely. Every piece of china, every silver teapot, every linen napkin has been sourced personally — many from estate sales right here in Dallas, rescued from cabinets where they’d been waiting for someone to use them again.

This is a Dallas business, built by someone who lives here, for the community I call home.

My philosophy

Curated, not generic
I don’t buy matching sets from a catalog. Every piece in our collection has history — sourced from estate sales, vintage shops and inherited collections. Mixed intentionally, never uniform. The result is a table that feels collected over a lifetime, not ordered overnight.

Detail is everything
The difference between a nice party and an unforgettable one is almost always in the details — a hand-poured tea, a perfectly pressed napkin, a flower placed just so. I obsess over the things most people won’t consciously notice, because they’re exactly what makes an experience feel special.

Hosting should feel like being a guest
I believe the person throwing the party deserves to enjoy it as much as everyone else. That’s the entire premise of Highland Tea Co. — you shouldn’t have to choose between hosting beautifully and actually being present.
